Woah. I haven't updated here for ages...
So, what's new? I am currently involved in playing two different RPGs, with a third RPG still being set up.(Julian's FFRPG) The first of the above is another FFRPG that was entirely built seperately from the other using a d10 system. It's pretty fun to play, but it requires a whole lotta dice to play. The second is the RPG that I mentioned earlier that is going through the RP testing.(which is essentialy playing the actual game while the GM is still fixing little bugs and glitches to see if it actually works in the long run) Also, I have knowledge of a number of other individuals (including myself) who are working on developing their own RPGs either from scratch or borrowing elements from the first two RPGs mentioned in this post.

So here's my idea for an RPG:
Remember how from around 1984-1996 the media industry(comics, television, etc.) was focused almost entirely around selling action figures? Well, my idea is to base a game on the image of "cool" that was produced during that time. So the game would be an urban environment where the players are powerful mutants, animals, robots, humans, aliens, cyborgs, or a number of other combinations with a large variance in gameplay style. I plan to borrow a combat system that lets the players use multiple attacks at a time, yet still remaining simplistic. Hopefully I'll be able to actually get this game developed to a playable point, unlike some of my other cool ideas.

I need to go about doing some small tasks sometime soon. The books in my room are at least a week overdue, and I haven't done any spontaneous visitations recently. I guess I've been busy the last few times I've been going places.

On a different note, I've been doing some concept art for an RPG a friend of mine has been making.

Seriously though, I'm not that bad at drawing. I've been trying to increase my skill in drawing fantasy type things, such as: giant bugs, more giant bugs, armor, weapons, buildings, dwarves, elves, elementals, hobbits, giant beasts that go bump in the night, rocks, trees, trees, rocks, water, crazy scrabbler things, gnomes, gnome traps, bert, dragons, realistic looking humans, etc. etc. etc...
I've been noticing gnomes a lot more while doing random paper routes. DON'T LET THEM GET YOU!!! There most be at least one for every household in all sorts of gruesome shapes and sizes! They talk to me too, in a Sean Connery accent! They say the time for retribushion is nigh, that the demishe of our rashe ish at hand, and that none sshhal be able to shtop the inevitabable! Oh no! They've found me! You've got to get the message out! Someone! Anyone!!! DON'T TRUST THE GNOMES!!! Ackghdklifhefkhfkfffioehfiookjgrirkll!!!

It doesn't seem too funny anymore... [Sep. 10th, 2006|07:54 am]

So apparently Steve Irwin died the other day. Had a bad encounter with the business end of a stingray it seems. Now that he actually is dead, it seems kinda ummm.... awkward thinking about all those online comics and movies that made fun of him. Ah well, once you forget that he's dead, you can go back to your lame australian accent no droblem.

server notes [Aug. 16th, 2006|09:29 am]

also, if you create a player on a specific server, you can't access it from another server, so if you decide to switch servers, you'll have to create a new character. Unless of course there's some way to transfer the characters that I don't know about.

That should get you there.
If anyone wants to actually play some because of this, my user id is eograd, and my current character is "fyrsword" on the Athens server. Just remember that the servers ae all full in the mornings, but you can get in later in the day. I guess it has to do with japanese primetime or something...

At last! an entirely ffree online RPG! [Aug. 15th, 2006|07:18 am]

I've just been playing Silk Road recently. It's a pretty good game considering how much you pay for it. Nothing!. The game takes place in most of asia and eastern europe during the days when you had to use pack animals to get any sort of goods anywhere. The game takes up quite a bit of space on your hard drive by my standards, though, and the servers are almost always full in the mornings. The afternoons and evenings are okay though. Another small problem is that the registration has a slightly higher chance of not working. I couldn't register the night I downloaded the game. But all things considered, you're getting a lot more than your moneys worth out of this game if you decide to play it.

So I was at the store the other day, and I saw that Fruit Loops is doing that limited time blue fruit loops... For the 5th-8th time! I remember when the lime color was the limited time addition, but they eventually liked it enough to keep it in their mix. For some reason though, They've been putting the blue loops on and off for the past 10+ years. Now, I know that this a minor thing, but when they first intoduced them I was overjoyed, and later when they cancelled them, I was heartbroken. Remember that at the time I was only 6-8 years old, but it still mildly irritates me that they're still trying to market the blue fruit loops as a "new thing" when they are just moving them on and off the production line about every year. AUUUGGHHH!!! I CAN"T EAT BREAKFAST ANYMORE!!!

Ah, good ol' Sci-Fi and D&D Greg. They remind me of me in a strange "ewww..." kinda way. I so much prefer to be compared to Senor Cardgage anyday. Cuz he's so cool, you don't even know he's cool!
